The upcoming season will focus on the case of Dee Dee Blanchard, a single mother who raised her daughter Gypsy Rose with a host of illnesses. But as Gypsy Rose grew into her teens, she began to question her mother's motives. With the help of her boyfriend, Nick Godejohn, Gypsy Rose eventually escaped and authorities were called in to investigate the circumstances surrounding Dee Dee's death.
