New Minimum Wage Rates Announced for 2024

Effective January 1, 2024, Monthly and Hourly Minimum Wage Rates Increase

The French government has announced the new minimum wage rates for 2024, effective from January 1st. The gross monthly minimum wage, known as the Salaire Minimum Interprofessionnel de Croissance (SMIC), will increase to €1,766.92, representing a monthly increase of €16. The net monthly minimum wage after taxes and deductions will rise to €1,398.69.

Hourly and Monthly SMIC Rates

The gross hourly SMIC rate will also see a slight increase, rising from €11.07 in 2023 to €11.65 in 2024. This change brings the monthly SMIC for a 35-hour workweek to a gross amount of €1,766.92 and a net amount of €1,398.69.
